Students will learn to be more active in the community, bringing awareness about binge & underage drinking and impaired driving by exploring leadership training and interactive techniques.
- Theatre – using improv and social change theatre to explore issues
- Videography – creating messages and public service announcements
- Spokesperson training
- Teamwork building and discussion
- Writing – research, opinion pieces, blogging
This opportunity is open to VUSD students in Grades 7-11. Teachers, please contact Katherine Kasmir for more information about the number of students you are able to invite.

Straight Up is a youth development project that promotes social change regarding underage and binge drinking using improvisation and interactive performance and workshops with engaging discussion, exploration of issues, and the development of personal and community solutions to these problems. more
