In this episode, Straight Up speaks with Randy Pentis of Thousand Oaks Police Department to talk us through the process after police have been called to a party. What happens when minors are seen drinking? What happens after an ordinance has been issued?
Straight Up also speaks with Dan Hicks of the Ventura County Behavior Health Department Preventions Services to find out if the Ordinance has been effective, and what the future holds.

Reality Party for Parents in Oxnard on October 4th
Come and face the reality
Straight Up Ventura County, in collaboration with City Impact, with the support of Oxnard Police Department, will be hosting a Reality Party for Parents in Oxnard on Saturday October 4th to expose the culture of underage and binge drinking in Ventura County. A home will be set up to portray a “typical” youth party. Parents can take a 25-minute tour through the party and hear what teens and young adults have to say about local party environments and their concerns over these dangerous social norms.
DATE: Saturday, October 4
TIME: Tours start every half hour between 3pm - 8pm. Tours last 25 minutes; a short discussion follows.
PLACE: A house in Oxnard. Address will be given when a tour time is reserved.
Adults only, please. FREE! Refreshments will be provided. Reservations are required.
